Halloween and Schlossplatz

Now after being here for a few days and sleeping an average of 12 hours for the last two nights, I am ready to send some pictures. The first picture is from Halloween. We have Indiana Jones, Malefacent, and Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe. They had a great time even though we had to survive a 10 minute downpour.


We went out to the Schlossplatz in downtown Stuttgart to explore the area more. We were even able to take the U trains to get there and back without getting lost once.



We also had our first "real" German meal last night and it was quite interesting. Mike thoroughly enjoyed the 2 half liters of beer and the boys love telling people that they want water without gas. The boys had spaetzle and actually liked it! I realized just how much reading I have to do in a German restaurant to not eat pork.  The spaetzle is similar to noodles, Ashton had his plain and William had his with gravy.





This was a lovely park near the city center. It apparently has angry ducks that tend to attack people. We also saw quite a few dogs walking around without an leashes. They were so well behaved that it made me think that us Americans must be doing something wrong with our dogs since there is no Caesar Milan needed to fix things.



We came across a Christmas festival that had the familiar smells from my childhood. There were stalls for food, chocolate, and drink. We also had a good time watching people ice skating. The boys wanted to go out on the ice, but my body wasn't up to it today. We might go next week. This is Mike trying a hot wine that is very popular there. Though it warmed him up, he has no urge to try it again.
